Chef Otsuji will be teaching a hands on Sushi Class at For your kitchen.  We provide all the necessary tools and materials to make sushi.  At this class we'll be making Unagi Maki (Broiled Eel rolls), Spicy Tuna, Salmon and Shrimp Tempura rolls.  We will be focusing on making Te maki sushi (hand rolls), Ura maki (inside out rolls), and Futo maki (fat rolls).

Having grown up with 7 apple trees in our yard I could not do this class without doing dried apples.  This said we will also dry other popular fruits and veggie’s such as tomatoes.  We will need to do some fruit leather.  We will also throw in some jerky and if you are really lucky we will do some bananas and pineapple.

Sandy spent 3 years in Yokosuka, Japan while stationed with the US Navy. Never had a spudnut?  Think of it as a moist doughnut.  I think they are terrific, I am not sure why spudnut shops ever went out of business.  This is probably my favorite dessert, simple to make anyone can do it.  Come to eat, come to learn, just come on in and enjoy one of my favorite desserts.

Registration

You can register for classes via email at classes@fykitchen.com, in person, or by phone at 801-866-1111. All classes require advance registration and registration must be accompanied by payment in full. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Cash and Checks. Adult classes are open to those 14 and older.

Cancellation Policy

Please contact For Your Kitchen as soon as possible if you are not able to attend a class.

One week prior to the class you may receive a full refund or transfer your registration to another class.

Cancellations less than 48 hours prior to the class and no-shows will be charged the full class price.

Classes may be transferred to another person. Please call to inform us of this change prior to the day of the class.

For Your Kitchen reserves the right to cancel a class at anytime. You may choose to receive a full refund or transfer to another class if we cancel a class.

Class Information

Please arrive a few minutes early to check in at the front register. Classes generally run 2 hours in length and include menu recipes and generous samples of the food prepared.

All students receive a 10% discount off all store items (not including electrical appliances) the day of the class.

Demonstration classes accommodate 25-40 students. In a demonstration class the instructor will present recipe preparation and techniques to the students. These classes may include limited class participation.

Hands-on classes accommodate 10-25 students. Students will take part in recipe preparation. For your safety please bring an apron and wear flat, closed-toe shoes in our hands-on classes.

Class Assistants

Volunteer class assistant responsibilities may include: class set up and breakdown, serving and clearing dishes for attendees, dishwashing, food preparation, and instructor assistance. The average shift is 4 hours in length and may begin prior to class start time.

Being an assistant requires hard work and time but it's an opportunity to interact with the Chefs, receive recipes, taste samples, learn lots; and have fun! Additional advantages of volunteering as a class assistant include: 1 free class after assisting in 3 classes and a 10% discount off all store items (not including electrical appliances) the day of the class.
